I am a tenured Professor of Economics at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU), Research Affiliate at the IZA Institute of Labor Economics, Bonn, Associate Editor of the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance, and a member of the Financial Literacy and Personal Finance Research Network (G53 Network). I received my doctoral degree in Economics and Social Sciences from the University of Kiel and was a research associate at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin).

My research interests are in the area of applied microeconomics, especially economics of education, development economics, behavioral economics and household finance. My work has appeared in leading field journals such as Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Economics of Education Review, World Bank Economic Review, and Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics.

I also conduct research on evidence based teaching and learning of economics at any level. This type of work has appeared in the Journal of Economic Psychology, the Journal of Economic Education and International Review of Economics Education.
